Innisfree Simple Label Tinted Moisturizer

A few months back, Innisfree launched their Simple Label line: a range of eco-friendly, materialist, vegan products. Out of all the products in the line, I decided to try the Simple Label Tinted Moisturizer. Between wear a mask daily and suffering in the scorching heat and humidity, I wanted a base that was light and nourishing. It also contains a physical sunscreen as an added bonus!

The Claims

Innisfree promises that this tinted moisturizer will correct uneven skin tones while soothing and nourishing the skin to help it look smooth and glowing.

Quantity: 40 ml

The Experience & The Results

If you want a barely there look, you can use a beauty blender to apply the tinted moisturizer as shown in the YouTube video. Using this tool helps spread the product across the skin easily, creating a sheer effect. While this method doesn’t provide a lot of coverage, it does help cover my redness, as if my skin was naturally this even toned.

On the other hand, if you want a medium coverage, the good news is that this tinted moisturizer is buildable. I used my fingers to apply it which worked out amazingly well, but you could use a brush if you wanted to instead. It really does feel like applying a thin moisturizer onto the face, and it effortlessly melts into the skin instead of sitting on top of it

Even with a heavier coverage, it feels like nothing is on my skin. I guess that’s the beauty of using a tinted moisturizer instead of a thick foundation. It also adds a soft sheen, and my usually dry skin was free from any dry patches.

Of course, I should point out that there are two cons with the Simple Label Tinted Moisturizer. The first is that, while it does conceal redness, it does nothing to cover texture. For me, that isn’t much of a big deal. We are human, we have pores, it’s not an issue in my book. I personally think it’s a plus, because it creates a bit of a “my skin but better” kind of look. However, I know that it’s not everyone’s cup of tea.

The second con has more to do with the color range. As you probably know, Korea doesn’t have the best reputation when it comes to their foundation or tinted moisturizer shade range. It’s gotten just a little better over the years, with some ranges expanding from 2 or 3 to a whopping 6, but it pales in comparison to makeup lines that offer a 40 shade collection. This tinted moisturizer only comes in three shades here in Korea, Fair, Beige, and Deep Beige. If you haven’t already guessed by the names, these are all on the pale side. I personally picked the middle shade, Beige. This was the closest to my skin color. Fair was closer to Snow White’s complexion than mine, and Deep Beige was too warm. You can see that it’s not a perfect match when you look at my neck, but with contour and some bronzer, I don’t think it’s that noticeable. In other countries, I saw that there is a fourth shade available, which I saw being called Tan, but I don’t know if that’s Innisfree’s official name for it.

The Conclusion

For me, the cons didn’t specifically affect how much I enjoy using the Simple Label Tinted Moisturizer, but I know that those issues can be deal breakers for some of you. If one of the few shades does match you, and you are not overly worried about texture, then I suggest trying out this moisturizer! The price is so affordable at 18,000 KRW here in Korea, and it is the perfect balance of coverage but breathability.
